Finding her love

Posted on: September 10, 2010

****This is an all bragging post.  If you don’t want to hear how awesome Amelia don’t read this****

Amelia had her first gymnastics class on Tuesday.  She has been wanting to go to gymnastics for awhile now me and Greg made the decision to hold out for as long as we could not to send her.  I know you are thinking “What bastard parents for not sending their daughter to what she wants.”  I am going to give a little back story.  Amelia started walking when she was 9 months old.  She started climbing and flipping soon after.  We knew she was going to be kick ass at gymnastics.  We waited because we knew as soon as she took that first class our lives would forever be effected.  Boy! We were we right.

She loved her first class.  I could watch her face and see that moment where she fell in love.  It was amazing to watch as a parent.  She was on the beam she landed on her feet after a jump off.  It was over from that moment on.  She had found found her love.  Instead of doodling her his name on her notebook she was jumping off high things.

After class I had to go get money out of the ATM because I forgot my checkbook to pay for the session.  As soon as we got to the car she started crying.  Not just any crying heart break crying because it would be a whole week before we were back at the gym.  She didn’t if she could make it that long.  I signed her up for a second class so she wouldn’t have to wait.  Yes I know I am a pushover.  Yes it was expensive.  Yes if you want me to show you my boons for money I will.  I have to pay for these lessons somehow.

Before I could talk to the teacher about signing her up for another class she asked to speak to me. She wanted to talk about how awesome Amelia did and that she would be moving up a level next week. I knew that this was going to happen.  I know it won’t be too long before we get an invitation to join the traveling team. (I am serious about the boobs for money thing) We were right!  She is awesome!
